Hi! My name is Dave and my journey into UTV softgoods began in 2009 with the purchase of a new RZR 800 s. What a beast! I had been riding ATVs for years before that and had no idea what I was getting into.
First, there was the dust. Where was this $#@&%)? dust coming from? Back of my neck and head was covered!!
Didn’t take long to figure out is was my dust being drug back into my cab from some unknown force. Tried everything….no windshield; half windshield; full windshield…..nothing helped so I “rigged” up a barrier between me and the dust and that was the ticket!
Next problem was it looked like &^#$ and I couldn’t see out of it. I had had some upholstery background so I went to work. It was amazing!
The next time I went out several of my friends saw what I had done and wanted one. I obliged for the first couple but it was getting expensive so I started charging for materials. Then for a little labor….then I was patterning other machines for people I had never met, and on and on.
It’s amazing how effective these rear windows are for keeping the dust out of the cab. Nearly an inch of that fine powdery dust in the bed and the cab is so clean you could eat a sandwich off the dash.
Then there was the issue of no storage. What was Polaris thinking?
CONSTRUCTION
Our products are designed and manufactured around the idea that it’s got to be durable and user friendly.
Our rear windows are built from 1680 Ballistic Nylon. It’s nearly indestructible!
Then we use 30 gauge marine grade clear vinyl. Same thing we use to make boat windows out of. It’s flexible and doesn’t yellow or crack.
After that, we reinforce all stress points with 1 inch webbing and secure it to the machine using buckled and Velcro straps. Most rear windows are so securely attached that you’re able to trailer them worry free.
Our bags, same design philosophy. We went so far as to use #5 YKK toothed zippers instead of those cheesy coil zippers the competition is using. Coil zippers are not dust friendly which generally equates to over pulling the zipper to close or open them and ripping out the coiled zipper.
Every item is stitched together using T92 bonded poly thread that is UV resistant and guaranteed to provide years of everyday use.
In essence you have a bag or window that looks and operates nothing like our imported competition. Sure they are a bit cheaper but they are made from lesser quality products, i.e., 1000 denier material, 20 gauge clear vinyl and sewn together with T45 thread (maybe).
